Steeped in history, Elvetham was once home to the Seymour family who, in 1591, invited Queen Elizabeth I to enjoy four days of magnificent entertainment. In the Queen’s company was William Shakespeare who was commissioned to write poetry known as the `Elvetham Entertainments’ and it is believed `A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ had its first ever performance here.

For special occasions and family celebrations, The Elvetham offers variety, flexibility and personal service from the planning stages through to the farewells. Set in 35 acres of formal gardens and grounds, it is home to 72 individually styled bedrooms, including standard and superior rooms and a selection of elegant private dining and reception rooms.

During the spring and summer months a barbeque on the lawn is an ideal way to entertain your guests whilst making the most of the outdoors. A choice of spit-roasts and salads ensures that every taste can be catered for.

An excellent cellar offers fine Champagne and a selection of wines from around the world available by the glass, by the bottle and ‘en magnum’. Your event will be carefully tailored with every detail in mind.
