The Main Hall together with the Drawing Room and Bar create the perfect welcome for your guests where a glass of something bubbly can be served on silver trays whilst friends and family catch up.
Library
Our Library is everything you might imagine and just right for the Wedding Breakfast. A truly magnificent fireplace and original Victorian bookcase flank the sides of this superb setting where everyone will receive an uninterrupted view of the Top Table and catch every word of those all important speeches.
Oak Room
The Oak Room is the ideal setting for the civil ceremony, with its rich oak panelling and ornate fireplace. It also provides for excellent acoustics to ensure every word of the vows is heard. Natural daylight streams in from large Victorian windows which in turn can frame guaranteed snow during winter weddings!
Gardens
The Elvetham’s formal gardens have been manicured by the same careful hands for over a quarter of a century and you may well choose to view them first from the air if you arrive by helicopter! More likely perhaps is to showcase them in your photographs and the most popular features are our Topiary Tree Walk leading towards the Norman style Church and the Sunken Pond Garden with the House in the background. With 35 acres to choose from however, the possibilities are endless.
Stairwell
The foot of our spectacular stairwell is the ideal location for the Cake Cutting ceremony where your evening guests get the chance to join the celebrations. Magnificent stain glass windows offer excellent indoor photo opportunities and the staircase itself provides for the perfect launch of the wedding bouquet.
Morning Room
The Morning Room adjoins the Drawing Room and Bar making it the obvious choice for the evening entertainment. For those who wish to sit it out the ceiling artwork offers an interesting and historic spectacle. For the more energetic the dance floor in the Morning Room can be filled by either a DJ or a band of your choosing.
Conservatory
The light-filled Conservatory, with or without the Garden Room, is an ideal alternative for the Wedding Breakfast but also provides for a moonlit evening buffet. Open the doors onto the terrace for a Spit Roast or BBQ and make the entire south-facing wing of the house yours for the evening.
