How to get the most out of team building with Firebird Events
Whether you’re a newly formed team, individuals from a global organisation, or a long-established team wanting to re-group, the right team building activity can do wonders… Often run as a reward, an incentive, or to help develop office relationships and increase morale, as the event organiser, the pressure is on to ensure you pick the right team building activity!
Below are a few ‘top tips’ from our friends at top team building company Firebird Events to help you get the most out of your next team building event…
- Provide as much information as you can
At initial enquiry stage we like to gather as much information from you as we can, in order to make recommendations for activities that will work well for your event. The more information you can provide us with the better. Think, date, venue, time available, number of guests attending, delegate demographics, objectives and budget.
- Think about your objectives
To get the most out of your event, ensure you take the time to think about what you really want to get out of the activity – improving communication, developing your team, encouraging creativity, focusing on time management, reinforcing a one team culture, encouraging a bit of healthy competition, or even just to bring your team together and have a bit of fun!
- Consider timings
Understandably, team building is often planned around the main meeting element, but it is important to allow enough time for your team building, rather than squeezing it in and it all being a little rushed. We would recommend that activities are run after the ‘business’ part of the day has concluded, allowing guests to let their hair down!
- Keep the whole team in mind
There is little point booking an activity which you love, but won’t be of interest to the rest of your colleagues, think about who will be attending, the age range, physical ability and confidence levels. The last thing you want is for anyone to feel excluded when trying to bring the team together!
- Make the most of the space available
Whether looking at indoor or outdoor activities, make sure you consider what the best options are for the space you have available, rather than picking an activity and then trying to make it work. At The Elvetham you are spoilt for choice! With 35 acres of grounds to make the most of and motorised activities permitted, the space is perfect for all of our outdoor activities – the possibilities really are endless!
We hope these ‘top tips’ are useful. We are always happy to make recommendations based on your teams’ requirements, so please do give us a call – we would be delighted to help!
