The Elvetham Walking Route

 

Embark on our 5km walking and running route around the historic Elvetham estate. This leisurely stroll through the Hampshire countryside is the perfect way to reconnect with nature.

 

The route takes approximately one hour and is relatively flat, with a few fencing stiles to navigate along the way.

 

Fleet Pond

 

Fleet Pond is the largest freshwater lake in Hampshire. The nature reserve has 141 acres of vaired habitats including heathland, woodland, reedbed and marsh, and is home for many species of birds, butterflies, dragonflies and wildflowers.

 

Directions:

Drive to the car park, Southwood Lane, Fleet GU51 2RT.

 

There is a choice of two car parks, off to the right will you on a direct walk around the pond, off to the left will take you on a scenic walk around the surrounding fields and woods.

Caeser's Camp

 

Caeser's Camp is a lovely countryside walk located in Aldershot, it sits on the border with Farnham, giving visitors an opportunity to see both the Surrey and Hampshire landscape for miles.

 

Suitable for children and dogs, no facilities on site, so if you're planning on spending a few hours exploring, it is advised to bring a picnic or some snacks.

 

The 8km (5 mile) walk begins at the car Rowhill Nature Reserve (GU11 3BD). There is also limited space for around 10 cars at Bourley Road car park if you wanted to start your hike at Bourley Lakes (GU52 8AD).

Edenbrook Country Park

 

Edenbrook is a dog friendly country park with plenty of surfaced paths and open space. It is popular with joggers and cyclists too.

 

The large amount of standing water attracts a wealth of waders and ducks especially in winter. In spring and summer watch dragonflies flying low on the water and butterflies across the meadows of wildflowers and grasses. In the winter paths may be closed due to flooding after heavy rain.
