Our team work together to make every visit to The Elvetham a special experience. We strive to go the extra mile so that every wedding, meeting or event runs smoothly.
Many of our team have decades of experience at The Elvetham which provides a ‘family feel’ and it’s that atmosphere that creates the perfect setting for your event at The Elvetham.
- Philip Warden – Managing Director
Philip has been a shareholder and the Managing Director since The Elvetham was purchased in 2001 and is responsible for leading the team and the overall operation. Philip started his career in the pub trade and then went on to be trained at The Ritz and Grosvenor House. Philip then acquired and developed a hotel in Chelsea before joining The Petersham in Richmond as General Manager in 1998 and later The Elvetham.
When he is not working, Philip enjoys travelling as a hotel consultant, riding horses, and wining and dining with friends and family.
- Arran Bushnell – IT Logistics Manager
Arran’s main focus is to take care of our guests and the meeting rooms they use to make sure both work together in a happy harmony. Once this has been achieved, Arran’s team move onto supporting other departments within the Elvetham. For instance, configuring work stations, and rectifying IT issues. In-between these jobs, Arran’s team can be found assisting guests, helping with deliveries, and setting up rooms for upcoming events.
When not running his busy team at The Elvetham, Arran loves to be outdoors and enjoys the surrounding countryside.
- Graham Cleator – Head Gardener
Graham joined The Elvetham in June 1977, and so is in his 40th year running the much loved Elvetham gardens! Graham leads a busy team of four, who take great pride in; tending to the grass areas, growing 5000 bedding plants, and maintaining the garden machinery.
When not being green-fingered at work, Graham is a keen biker, and also spends exhausting but fun time with his young granddaughter.
- Arnaud Sauvage - Front Office Manager
Arnaud started working at the Elvetham in 2006 as Front of House Manager; he is responsible for the accommodation side of the Elvetham and oversees the Front Office and Housekeeping Team.
Arnaud started his career in food & beverage before moving to front office and worked for a 4* hotel & conference centre in France and 4* hotels in the UK.
During his spare time, Arnaud enjoy going to the gym, especially high intensity cardio exercises. He also likes listening to music and going to concerts.
- Andrew Shaw - Food & Beverage Manager
Andrew has been at The Elvetham since 1991 and oversees the smooth running of our food and beverage operation. This includes the restaurant, bar, and function room services. Before The Elvetham, Andrew started his training with Forte hotels in hospitality then into the kitchen which took him to France and Les Prés d'Eugénie where he trained under famous chef Michel Guérard.
While Andrew is away from The Elvetham he is a proud supporter and season ticket holder of Portsmouth football club and has been attending their matches since he was 6 years old.
- Darren Williams - Head Chef
Darren has been at the Elvetham as head chef since 2011. Before this, he worked in central London training people who had experienced homelessness to become chefs.
He has been in catering for 20 years working his way up through fine dining and Michelin starred restaurants. Away from the hotel Darren enjoys football, eating out, and holidaying in warmer climates.
- Lucy Poiera - Head Housekeeper
Lucy has been with The Elvetham since January 2008 and is the head housekeeper here. Her main responsibilities are to ensure guests have a comfortable stay and that the 72 bedrooms are clean and tidy. Lucy’s team is also in charge of the housekeeping of all the public areas in the house.
When Lucy is away from The Elvetham she enjoys spending time with her family, going for long walks and listening to music.
